"Rich's work not only has a dramatic appeal, but is spiritually nourishing, and that's quite a powerful combination. I like productions that raise people's consciousness and make a difference in lives. Rich does this singlehandedly."

Tony Campolo is pictured here as he addresses the Men's Retreat for my church's district (Church of the Nazarene). Dr. Campolo's been something of a hero of mine since college, when some of his books were required reading for my sociology degree. My sociology mentor, Mike Allen, quoted Campolo often...

I snapped this shot thinking the stewardess would make the announcement any second to turn off all things electronic. Shortly after snapping the flaps popped up and we were on the ground. That makes this the lowest shot I've taken of NYC from the air since the days of my Pentax K1000.

Wish I'd misse...

I was going to perform Beyond the Chariots (RichDrama.com/BeyondtheChariots) tonight, but as we got close to finalizing, the pastor who was arranging my performance discovered that another pastor had already contracted with a band to perform that night.

So I was blessed with a marvelous dinner with D...

I'm in the Missouri side of the city for a Graceworks ( GraceworksInc.com) presentation tomorrow, and I talked my friend, Dan, and Mom's cousin, Lydia, into joining me for dinner.

Dan used to speak at the junior high camps in NY, where I performed for a number of years. He continues to speak at ...

You know it's been a busy year, when you have't found the time to flip your calendar since August!

Ted and Rosemary Webber helped arrange my performance here in Harrisburg, PA. He helped students decorate this bovine and then pulled it all together for the final product.

In July, The New York Times featured a pear from my dad's packing house (Southern Oregon Sales) on the front page. Now the Discovery Channel ran a feature on the process of using lasers instead of stickers: click here, then scroll down to "There's a 'tattoo' on my melon."

The farm tha...

One of the people who inspired me to do one-man plays, Roger Nelson has invited me to join him with a production at Theatre 315, an Off-Broadway theatre in the heart of the Broadway district of Manhattan. We'll be alternating our plays. The dates will be April 16-23.

Stay tuned for more details.

When I was in third grade my parents blessed us with a trip that included a stop in Chicago. The view from atop the Sears Tower at night blew my little mind. I'm sure it was one of the things that God used to plant a love of travel in my heart...and the ability for this farm boy to live on Times S...

I've performed several times in Bill and Melanie Jeschke's church, just outside Washington DC.

I'll be doing a workshop tomorrow morning in Chicago (no rain here), so if anyone catches the show, please post a report in a comment below.

Our church produced a Feast of Sukkot, which is when Jewish people celebrate how God provided for them in the wilderness.

Talitha asked her mom if she could sit on my lap when I played Jesus during the scene pictured here. She told her it was too late to add that to the blocking, but I had the same ...

Okay, so it was iron, but Wisconsin turns out to be a great state: the 32nd in which I've presented.

The people here are marvelous. No surprise since Joyce lived some of her formative years here.
