A one-man play about Eric Liddell, a century after he broke the world record

Award-winning actor Rich Swingle’s play takes up where the four-time Oscar-winning movie, Chariots of Fire, leaves off. In dramatic style, he chronicles the incredible adventures of 1924 Paris Olympics gold medalist Eric Liddell in war-torn China. Swingle performed the play in Hong Kong, where Dr. James Hudson Taylor, III, saw it. As a boy Taylor was with Liddell in the Japanese concentration camp featured in the play. Taylor called the performance, "authentic, moving, thought provoking!"
Swingle has also performed the play Off-Broadway, in LA, Toronto (for Liddell's family), Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, during the Olympics in Beijing, Vancouver, London, and during the Youth Olympics in Singapore.

Liddell's youngest daughter Maureen wrote, "I cannot possibly express how much last night's event moved me, apart from your amazing talent and marvelous dramatic presentation. Having never known my father, I have looked for authentic experiences that confirm my impressions of him as a man. Beyond the Chariots made you feel the intensity and the "blood, sweat and tears" of my Father's life. It was wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
