Originally Songs of Revival: Hungry After God Himself was titled Songs of the Welsh Revival. Then the Asbury Outpouring began. As I write we're one year after the 298th hour of continuous worship, testimony, preaching, Scripture reading, Salvation, and rededication. We knew we needed to incorporate that amazing story and open at the 50th anniversary of the 1970 Asbury Revival, but we didn't want to give up on the initial vision. So we folded the Welsh Revival into that story of freshmen at the anniversary praying for the Lord to visit again. On the original drafts we just mentioned that the Welsh Revival was quite significant and had many hallmarks of what the students were praying for. But after our debut of the complete "singing play," Dr. Vernon Whaley, who set up the performance, pointed out that the first (of nine) Asbury Revivals broke out during the Welsh Revival!
