So sad to leave a place this wonderful, but especially sad to leave Joyce as she has more European business (the impetus for this trip) to attend. She'll be tying me at 18 countries when she touches down in Holland.
The American and California flags are on La Promenade de l'Anglais (the English), which runs along the Mediterranean. There were banners indicating that this is the year of Canada. Many banners celebrated cities like Vancouver, Quebec, and Toronto. My guess is that each year they select a different English speaking nation to honor. It seems the French like us more than I thought!
Do pray for the people here. Our friends, who are missionaries in Paris told us that France has the highest level of suicide in Europe.
