The American Miracle: Our Nation Is No Accident from acclaimed filmmaker Timothy P. Mahoney (Patterns of Evidence, Thinking Man films, Heroic Pictures) is in theaters as a Fathom Events coast-to-coast on Monday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 11.

We shared five interviews from The Kennedy Center premiere in Saturday’s article. Joyce and I were so blessed to attend the premiere of The American Miracle at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Joyce's first of two articles posted today on 


Lord, thank You for The American Miracle: Our Nation Is No Accident film that corrects history and shows Your divine hand in forming this nation.


The American Miracle is alive and well!


And IFA was there to witness it.


My husband, Rich Swingle (IFA contributing writer and prayer host), and I attended the red carpet premiere of The American Miracle: Our Nation Is No Accident, a film based on the first chapters of Michael Medved’s book of the same title.

Benjamin Franklin's words of wisdom

I performed in the re-creation of a scene described in today’s devotion at www.PresidentialPrayerTeam.org.


The writer described the Constitutional Convention of 1787, when our founders were trying to find a way to balance power between large and small states. 

I played Gunning Bedford, a delegate from Delaware, in The American Miracle. 


I’m posing with Barry Stevens, who portrayed Benjamin Franklin. 


In the film and today’s devotion, Franklin — at 81 — addressed George Washington and the other delegates, referring to Psalm 127:1:


I have lived a long time and am convinced that God governs in the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, sir, in the Sacred Writings, that "except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it."


He went on to suggest they open every session with prayer, led by a member of the clergy. They sought the Lord for the solution, and it resulted in a Senate giving each state equal voice, and a House of Representatives giving greater voice to larger states. 

The writer of the devotion summed it up this way:


God answered their prayers and on September 17, 1787, the drafting of the U.S. Constitution, the greatest political document ever written, was completed. To this day, all legislative sessions are opened with prayer.

Lord, we call a halt to the march of death, murder, and destruction in the Middle East. We cancel all demonic assignments and call forth workers to bring in the harvest.


Satan plans to accelerate the end times in an effort to block the billion-soul harvest. So the Evil One is blowing on the conflict in the Middle East to cause a conflagration that would rob millions of the opportunity to respond to the gospel.

I used to love autumn. Fresh, cooling winds, and lovely, swirling colors. A school year still new with promise, and the delights of hot cocoa, mulled cider, and crisp apples. But once I became a believer and began to develop a gift for discerning of spirits, October became oppressive.

Lord, anoint Tim Mahoney and his team as they create the film The American Miracle. Use it to remind Americans of God’s presence in the foundation of our nation.

Tim Mahoney is using the paradigm he honed with his Patterns of Evidence films to look at patterns of Providence — which he defines as God’s presence — in America’s founding. Michael Medved asked Mahoney to turn his book, The American Miracle, into a film, and Mahoney and his team have the project underway.
