On this day in 1857 Jeremiah Lamphier held his first lunch-time prayer meeting in Lower Manhattan. Within six months there were 10,000 meeting daily to pray during their lunch hour in Manhattan and by 1859 there were about a million people across the country praying together over lunch. 

Yesterday I played Jeremiah Lamphier in a short film for the Redigging the Wells of Revival conference being held on Azusa Street, the epicenter of a 1906 revival that birthed our denomination, the Church of the Nazarene, among many others. 

The short film was the idea of Silas Titus of Wall Street Prayer, who interviews Lamphier in the film.


You can see our short film as a part of the Redigging the Wells of Revival event, which included videos from many locations where revivals broke out. it's over nine hours of footage.

Tonight I got to encourage Westchester Chapel to keep their eyes on Jesus -- not on the storm or fear around them -- as I illustrated  Matthew 14: 22-33 with a video reenactment of Peter walking on the water. 

The video was shot in Israel in 2011 while on the Sea of Galilee. You can see it below.

I also sang Rich Mullins' song I See You and played a music video Sanctify My Life from the short film "A Matter of Perspective." You can see the music video below.

For the
25th Anniversary chapel at
Africa Nazrene Universtiy
we portrayed
Harmon and Lula Schmelzenbach,
the first
missionaries for the
Church of the Nazarene.
We just returned from Africa, where we had an amazing time! We're so grateful for the prayer covering we had, and everything went so smoothly with Divine appointments left and right!

Had a fabulous time performing a monologue from Hamlet, my 1-man piece based on Les Misérables, and sociodramas based on parallels the students observed. We talked a terrorist into dismantling his bomb, empowered someone to talk his friends through a rough situation, and helped someone avoid drugs. Not bad for a day's work, eh?
